30% of Latvian population have got at least one Covid shot

Since the start of the vaccination process, at least 30% of the population have received at least one shot against Covid-19, according to data from the National Health Service (NVD), LETA reported June 18.

A total of 11,148 people received the vaccine against Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, of which 3,220 received the first dose of the vaccine and 6,533 the second dose of the vaccine. A further 1,395 people received the vaccine by Johnson & Johnson that needs only one dose.

The total number of vaccinated population may still increase as data are being entered.

577,410 people have been vaccinated at least with one dose in Latvia, while 464,417 people have completed the vaccination process.

Overall, 1,041,827 injections were carried out in the country by 18 June.

According to data from the Central Statistical Bureau, there was a provisional population of 1,887,600 in Latvia at the beginning of April 2021, with 30.59% of the population receiving the first shot against Covid-19 and 24.6% receiving both.
