Of the total number of positive cases, 302 were unvaccinated persons, or persons not fully vaccinated, and 58 were fully vaccinated.
The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 144,160.
Of 46,787 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 0.8% were positive.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants rose from 159.3 Friday to 169.3 Saturday. That means the current Covid threat is rated 'red' or 'high' according to the official four-color traffic light system.
While 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants was the level at which the traffic lights changed from amber to red, the cumulative morbidity rate in Latvia has now exceeded 120, which was previously set as the level at which restrictions will again be strengthened. However, the government has yet to indicate any changes to the existing rules.
