Of the new cases, 749 cases were unvaccinated persons, or persons not fully vaccinated, and 530 were fully vaccinated. The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 249,037.
Of the 12,609 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 10.1% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population fell from 742.6 Tuesday to 721.0 Wednesday.

Sadly, 56 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed Wednesday. This is the third-highest daily death toll of the pandemic so far. All of the victims were aged over 40 years. Eleven of the fatalities were fully vaccinated individuals. The total death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,063.
Tuesday data show 1,026 patients being treated in hospital with 171 patients displaying serious symptoms.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
