78 municipalities have established rooms at hotels, tourist accommodations, dorms and municipal apartments that they can offer to people as options if they require self-isolation, while 38 municipalities have yet to provide such a service, according to the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LPS) on April 29.

Rīga hotels and hostels have pledged to provide lodging for around 2,000 people with prices ranging from 20-75 euros per night. Two more hotels are also prepared to open if necessary. In Ventspils a building was adapted to house 64 Covid-19 novel coronavirus patients experiencing light symptoms, but can expand that to 85 if necessary.

Jelgava is cooperating with local hotels, even providing the option to cover expenses for those who aren't so well-off or have been impacted by the financial crisis. In Aizkraukle, Smiltene, Limbaži and Cēsis both companies and individuals have answered the call to help seniors and those quarantined at home.

In Alsunga and Saldus the tourism industry is pivoting from housing tourists to providing a space for those returning from abroad to spend their 14-days of self-isolation, while Valka is providing municipal apartments. Madona is working with NGOs to provide self-quarantine options free of charge, while social services workers deliver basic necessities to those who are quarantined.
