There was also confirmation of 11 more Covid-related deaths. The youngest of the deceased was in the 20-29 year age bracket, the oldest in the 80-89 year group.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 2,700.
There are currently 460 people being treated for Covid-19 symptoms in Latvian hospitals, of which number 61 are displaying serious symptoms.
On September 27 a total of 3,230 people received a first vaccination dose, while 1,537 received a second dose. In all, 836,007 people have completed a course of vaccination.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme.
All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
