Vaccination of children between the ages of 5 and 11 started in mid-December. Up to now, 2,997 children have received at least one Covid-19 shot in that age group, while 44 children have received both shots.
Meanwhile, 72,247 teens aged 12-17 have started the vaccination process and 67,150 have completed it.
Among people aged 60 who are considered to be a Covid-19 risk group, the vaccination course has been completed by 396,987 people, with 51 of them over 100 years old.

According to data from the Central Statistical Bureau, there were a total of 1 882 200 inhabitants in Latvia at the beginning of July 2021, with a total of 69.98% of the population receiving at least the first leg or the J & J vaccine against Covid-19, while 67.3% of the population contracted the vaccination process, of which 22.2% received the booster vaccine, according to LETA estimates.
