August 1 brings 1 meter seat distancing in Latvia

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Visitors to cultural venues will have to follow one-meter distance rule when they are in fixed, designated seats, said representatives of the Ministry of Culture July 28.

The Cabinet has decided that as from August 1, visitors to museums, libraries, cultural centers, exhibition halls, open-air museums, theater buildings, concert halls, cinemas and outdoor events of these cultural sites will have to observe new, lighter restrictions.

Four people of the same household will be able to sit together in fixed, designated seats; two if the persons are not representatives of one household.

Between seating sets, the operator of the event will have to ensure that a one-metre distance is respected or that a protective barrier is installed.

When leaving their seats, visitors to the events will have to continue to follow a 2-meter distance between them.

Such changes are provided for by the Ministry of Culture amendments to Cabinet Regulation, which will enter into force by 1 August. These changes have been agreed with the Ministry of Health and the SPKC.
