Of the newly-confirmed cases, 3,254 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 5,646 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 19,452 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 45.8% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population dipped for the ninth day in a row from 6,756 Wednesday to 6,614 Thursday, boosting confidence that the peak of the latest infection wave has passed. Since the beginning of the pandemic 682,118 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Unfortunately, 15 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All of the victims were all aged over 60 years. Five of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,284.
Wednesday hospital data from the National Health Service show 1,223 patients being treated in hospitals (down on 1,235 on Tuesday). 171 patients were admitted and 165 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 63 patients were displaying serious symptoms.
