More than 30 Dr. Clowns work daily in various Latvian hospitals, with medics attesting to the excellent effect they have on the morale of children undergoing treatment. They are funded principally from public donations and in order for them to continue to help young patients and their parents, the support of the population is needed. Therefore, a campaign was started July 27 featuring the gathering of the clowns in Rīga that can be viewed in the video above.
Donating to Doctor Clown is easy - you can do this by buying a red clown nose, or certain products such as coffee or ice cream. You can also donate at the official website.
"Support is still very high, we are very grateful, but of course, with a pandemic, support is less, because something very acute and topical is being supported... it is especially important to talk about us this year, and remind everyone that Dr. Clowns are responsible for emotional health. Our task is for the child to endure a less stressful time in the hospital," said Dr. Clown head Marianna Milovska.
