Four Covid-19 deaths and 500 cases Sunday in Latvia

On April 3, 2022, Latvia recorded 533 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the latest figures from the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).

Of the newly-confirmed cases, 167 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 366 were fully vaccinated.

Out of 2,765 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 19.3% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population declined further from 1,736 Saturday to 1663.66 Sunday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 802,534 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

 

Unfortunately, four more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All fatalities were aged over 70 years and three were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 5,628.

Saturday hospital data from the National Health Service show 763 patients being treated in hospitals (down on 865 the previous day). 81 patients were admitted and 168 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 24 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

A hotline – 8989 – allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination will continue to operate. The number for medical emergencies is 113.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme
