Four Covid deaths, 765 cases Friday in Latvia

On April 22, 2022, Latvia recorded 765 new cases of Covid-19 infection in total, according to the latest figures from the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).

Out of 5,194 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 14.7% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population rose slightly from 481.1 Thursday to 470.8 Friday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 816,298 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Four more Covid-related deaths were confirmed, all victims aged over 60. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 5,724.

Thursday hospital data from the National Health Service show 410 patients being treated in hospitals. 43 patients were admitted and 60 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 8 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

A hotline – 8989 – allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination will continue to operate. The number for medical emergencies is 113.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme
