Four Covid deaths Wednesday in Latvia

The Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) said on June 22 that 399 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed during the previous 24 hours with four more Covid-related deaths recorded.

Of 2,035 tests carried out over the last day, 19.6% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 population rose from 151 Tuesday to 161 Wednesday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 832,884 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,855. Of the four most recent victims, one was aged 40-49 years, while the others were aged over 70 years.

Tuesday hospital data from the National Health Service (NVD) show 121 patients being treated in hospitals, 7 of whom are displaying serious symptoms.

A hotline – 8989 – allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination will continue to operate. The number for medical emergencies is 113.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
