Janssen vaccine stocks running low in Latvia

Take note – story published 2 years ago

The stocks of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) single-dose vaccines in Latvia are running low, Health Minister Daniels Pavļuts said at the government meeting August 17.

On August 16 at 8:00 AM there were 2,395 Janssen vaccines left in the storage units of Latvia. It is planned that Latvia could receive two more batches of the vaccine in August totalling 35,000 doses, but it is unclear whether those deliveries will be completed due to production delays, said Pavļuts.

According to the Ministry of Health, no large-scale vaccination centers or shopping mall vaccination points currently have the Janssen vaccine. This particular manufacturer's vaccine has been well-received in Latvia due to its single-dose administering schedule.
