Take note – story published 2 years ago

On Tuesday, September 28, Latvia received another 19,200 vaccines produced by Janssen, National Health Service (NVD) said.

The manufacturer has also promised that another 21,600 doses will be delivered next Tuesday.

NVD said that it had been decided to allocate the Janssen vaccines to all population groups for vaccination in family doctors' practices, medical establishments, vaccination points in malls and mobile vaccination points.

Last week, when the Janssen vaccines became more widely available after a long break, the rate of vaccination against Covid-19 was also increased, linked to an interest in this vaccine which only requires one dose.

NVD reported that last week the vaccination numbers were the highest since early July:

  • 26,768 people received Comirnaty (“Pfizer”/BioNTech”) vaccines;
  • 9,731 Janssen vaccine;
  • 3,039 “Spikevax” (“Moderna”) vaccine.
