Latvia gets first 'Moderna' vaccines

Latvia on January 12 received first 1,200 'Moderna' vaccines against Covid-19, National Health Service (NVD) representative Anna Karolīna Šaule told LETA Tuesday.

Šaule said the delivery had come Tuesday at 17:28.

The storage and logistics of this vaccine will be carried out by the company Vakcīna, Ltd.

Health Ministry's parliamentary secretary Ilmārs Dūrītis said that the next batch of Moderna vaccines should be received on January 25, but this has not been confirmed yet.

Latvia has previously received over 30 000 vaccines in three batches from Pfizer/BioNTech.
