Latvia to donate emergency equipment to Ukraine

The Emergency Medical Service (NMPD) will donate one operational medical vehicle to the Borispol hospital in Ukraine, and the State Fire and Rescue Service will donate diver equipment and fire extinguisher concentrate, government decided May 24.

NMPD is expected to donate from its resources one of the operational medical vehicles – Opel Movano 2017. NMPD costs will be covered by funding planned for foreign missions.

The Latvian emergency service has already donated two vehicles before but they are no longer in the condition to transport patients.

The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) has agreed to donate diving bags, heaters, belts, straps, pressure balloons, wetsuits, other diver equipment, as well as 20,000 liters of fire foam concentrate.
