Of that total, 1,298 were unvaccinated persons, or persons not fully vaccinated, and 590 were fully vaccinated. The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 230,569.
Of 23,906 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 7.9% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population dropped from 1652.8 Friday to 1597.7 Saturday, raising tentative hopes that the current wave may have peaked.

Unfortunately 28 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All were aged 40 years or more. 26 of the victims were unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated while two were fully vaccinated.

Saturday data show 1,488 patients being treated in hospital (down on 1,532 on Friday) with 215 patients displaying serious symptoms (down on 246 of Friday).
Meanwhile in Estonia more than 1,500 cases and 14 deaths were recorded Friday and in Lithuania the figures were more than 3,200 cases and 27 deaths.

The dedicated hotline for Covid-19 related inquiries (24 hours, 7 days a week) is 8345. The number for medical emergencies is 113. There is a Latvian language hotline 8989 which allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv/.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia.
