In the spring, the government set a target to vaccinate at least 100,000 people a week, and this indicator was reached for a few weeks in a row in May. The pace has been declining all summer.
On Sunday, only 688 people got the jab, which is the lowest figure in one day since March, excluding Midsummer.
768,191 people have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, while 676,604 people have received the second dose. A further 111,828 people have been vaccinated with a “Johnson & Johnson” or “Janssen” vaccine that requires only one dose. Thus 46.75% of the population have begun the vaccination process, while 41.89% of the population have finished it.
