In the last week, between July 25 and July 31, the number of newly identified Covid-19 cases in Latvia increased more moderately – 5.7% compared to the previous week, SPKC pointed out. 7.1% more tests were conducted the previous week, and about one in three samples was positive.
Last week, there was a decrease of 16.7% in the number of hospitalized patients in Latvia.
Covid-19 cases were recorded in all age groups, the increase in Covid-19 cases is observed throughout Latvia, but the incidence above the average of Latvia is in Rīga and Vidzeme, while the most rapid increase was observed in Latgale.
At present, the average Covid-19 incidence rate in the European Union and the European Economic Area continues to decrease or stabilize.
