The Minister pointed out that in a situation where medical personnel is lacking, each illness is a blow to the healthcare system.

Pavļuts described the situation with Covid-19 in hospitals as stagnating. This could be due to disturbances of scheduled healthcare in the autumn, as well as to the aggravation of other diseases exacerbated by the Omicron.

The number of calls at the emergency services (NMPD) increased by 13%. On average, 1,820 calls are received daily. In comparison, in December, on average, 1,615 calls were received daily.
