Last week, 57.2% of the infected persons became ill within their households.

SPKC epidemiologist  Jurijs Perevoščikovs said it could be the influence of the more contagious strain of the virus.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Health, Ilmārs Dūrītis said that this month the supply of vaccines is scheduled to be weekly and that vaccination rates will also rise.

Vaccination against Covid-19 for chronic disease patients is scheduled to start on March 22 and teacher vaccination in April.
