New hotline for Covid-19 questions: 8345

Take note – story published 4 years ago

The State Chancery, together with the state telecoms provider Tet, has come up with a round-the-clock hotline for people's questions concerning the novel coronavirus.

The toll-free phone number 8345 can be called from Latvian territory and will answer health-related queries in English and Latvian. Latvians abroad are invited to call the Consular Service for queries.

Residents are asked to call so that they could choose the proper institution to turn to during the emergency. Operators will be trained to answer queries and to redirect calls to appropriate institutions.

But people are still asked to turn to emergency services at 110 and 113, as well as dial 8303 to apply to be tested for Covid-19 if they are seeing mild symptoms.

Latvia's cabinet has also set up a dedicated web page with the most recent information on the virus outbreak (English link).
