One Covid death in Latvia over two days of Easter

Over Easter, April 17 and April 18, 2022, Latvia recorded 360 new cases of Covid-19 infection in total, according to the latest figures from the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).

On Sunday, 299 cases were recorded, whereas on Monday, 67 cases were recorded.

Out of 1,916 tests carried out Sunday, 15.6% were positive. Out of 1,233 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 5.4% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population continued to decline to 547 on Monday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 813,243 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

 

One more Covid-related death was confirmed over the two days, the victim aged 80-89. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 5,700.

Sunday hospital data from the National Health Service show 446 patients being treated in hospitals. 31 patients were admitted and 13 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 12 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme
