Of 3,488 tests carried out over the past day, 31.7% were positive, resulting in 1,107 confirmed new cases of infection. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 population continued its climb from 420 Wednesday to 444 Thursday.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 844,142 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,873. The two latest victims were aged 80 or over.
Wednesday hospital data from the National Health Service (NVD) show 132 patients being treated in hospitals, one of whom is displaying serious symptoms.
