By the evening of Sunday, February 7, more than 53,000 people had signed up for voluntary vaccination on  the manavakcina.lv website, according to the Vaccination Bureau.

Friday, February 5, saw applications for the vaccine against Covid-19 on the site www.manavakcina.lv launched. The site was quickly swamped by the volume of applications being made.

The Ministry of Health is calling on residents to apply for their vaccine for two reasons: firstly, a person provides consent, secondly, the necessary contacts are ensured to send a notification with a place and time to receive the vaccine.

The manavakcina.lv site is the first of the four planned signup opportunities. Soon, a telephone hotline for registering applications will also start working.

Vaccination against Covid-19 is voluntary and the first vaccines will be received by the population in the priority groups, since their life or health is most threatened due to Covid-19. When indicating whether they belong to one of the priority groups, it is asked that residents be honest, since the data will then be verified by health records.
