Over a million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been used in Latvia

More than a million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been used in Latvia since the start of the vaccination process, according to data from the National Health Service, LETA reported June 17.

A total of 13,186 people received the vaccine against Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, of which 3,408 received the first dose of the vaccine and 8,423 the second dose of the vaccine. Another 1,355 people received the Janssen vaccine that requires only one dose.

The total number of vaccinated population may still increase as data are being entered in the system.

554,084 people have received at least one dose against Covid-19 in Latvia, while the vaccination process has been completed by 454,652 people.

Overall, 1,008,736 vaccine injections have been administered in the country by June 17.

According to data from the Central Statistical Bureau, there were 1,887,600 inhabitants in Latvia at the beginning of April 2021, which means 29.35% of the population have received the first shot against Covid-19, while 24.09% have completed the process.
