Rapid antigen testing to be offered at Latvia's pharmacies

Pharmacies will be able to perform Covid-19 rapid antigen tests required for employees to obtain a certificate of testing, the government said Tuesday, November 2.

The Ministry of Health said that the amendments made to the Cabinet regulations will increase the availability of the rapid antigen testing service in pharmacies, involving pharmacists and pharmacist assistants in the performance of the service.

Residents who need a vaccination or recovery certificate to perform their duties and who do not yet have such a certificate may carry out their work duties on a test certificate issued not earlier than 72 hours ago. The testing required for the performance of work duties may also be carried out with a rapid antigen test, the result of which is available within 15-20 minutes. At present, antigen tests are available at more than 120 testing points.
