Rīga 2nd Hospital no longer Covid-exclusive

Rīga Hospital No.2 is resuming the admission and treatment of patients with injuries which is the main profile of the hospital, Rīga City Council said November 14.

The number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals is declining slightly, and the 2nd Hospital is no longer exclusively treating Covid-19 patients like it was. Currently, 50 beds are still available for Covid-19 patients at the hospital.

The number of beds at Riga 1st Hospital is not reduced, but new ones are not being set up. In this hospital, 90 beds were created for Covid-19 patients, with 41 patients currently treated.

At the same time, it is stipulated that both hospitals should be able to increase the number of Covid-19 patient beds within 48 hours if needed. Riga municipality has decided that 300 beds can be set up in both hospitals.
