Rīga hospital treats Ukraine war victims

The first people injured in the Ukraine war have been brought to Rīga, the Traumatology and Orthopedics hospital, Latvian Television reported May 5.

Two of the people hospitalized participated in active warfare. One of the Ukraine defenders is in severe condition, while the other is in a moderate state, said microsurgeon Mārtiņš Malzubris.

Both have been transported to Rīga with the help of private individuals and private institutional medical transport. One has been consulted in Ukraine by a microsurgeon who went there voluntarily, Olafs Libermanis. 

Assistance is also provided to two injured civilians.
