Second COVID-19 related death confirmed in Latvia

A second COVID-19 related death has been registered in Latvia, the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) informed the LETA newswire April 4.

The male victim was a resident of the Zilais Krusts homeless shelter in Riga and had other chronic illnesses. As previously reported by LSM, the shelter has been a virus hotspot, registering numerous cases.

The SPKC said that the man had not been hospitalized and did not have clear signs that he had been infected with Covid-19.

As previously reported, the first Covid-19 related death in Latvia was recorded on April 3.
