The mobile app “Stop COVID” created to help limit the COVID-19 pandemic has been downloaded by 100,000 people so far, said Elina Lidere, head of communications for the “Stop COVID” app.

The app was most frequently downloaded on days when new COVID-19 outbreaks were detected, said Lidere.

“After a repeated outbreak of COVID-19, we see the role of the app and the interest of the population in it growing significantly. Data shows that the app was downloaded most on the days when many new cases were discovered,” Lidere said.

She pointed out that when you go outside the house, anyone who has downloaded the app can find out more quickly whether he/she has been in contact with COVID-19, thereby taking care of his/her own health and the health of others.

As of May 29, the voluntary contact detection application “Stop COVID” developed in Latvia is available. In the first month, it already had more than 80,000 users.
