The 18 Bulgarians were travelling south via Latvia from Finland and Estonia but were refused permission to enter Lithuania by border guards as one of the group had tested positive for COVID-19.
Consequently, a decision has been made to place the group under a quarantine regime on the premises and territory of the former Mežotne boarding secondary school in Bauska region. They will be prohibited from leaving the territory and will be monitored by local police and medics who will be provided with protective equipment. Food will be delivered to them, too.
