Vaccination against Covid-19 in all three priority groups has actively continued this weekend: medics and social care employees and residents continued to receive jabs, and vaccination of seniors over 70 began.
Vaccination bureau representative, Agnese Strazda, told Latvijas Radio that 197 seniors were vaccinated against Covid-19 at Riga East Clinical University Hospital (RAKUS) Sunday. Meanwhile, Children's Clinical University Hospital carried out 248 vaccinations, and 100 patients received a jab at the Stradiņš University Hospital.
At RAKUS and Children's Hospital, all seniors who had scheduled to come had appeared. At Stradiņš Hospital, all except one came.
“And vaccination will continue tomorrow and the day after. A record has been created for these particular seniors. (..) Those who had applied on Manavakcina.lv or by phone 8989 were already invited to receive the vaccine. Next week, it is planned to continue addressing the seniors who have signed up. And family doctors' practices will continue their work to vaccinate those citizens who have applied for these family doctors' practices,” Strazda said.
