Vaccine record hit Thursday in Latvia

The largest number of people vaccinated in one day has been recorded in Latvia on Thursday, with 15,549 people getting their jabs, according to the National Health Service (NVD), LETA reported May 7.

So far the largest number of people vaccinated against Covid-19 was recorded in Latvia on April 28, when 14,276 people got the jab.

On Thursday in Latvia, 8,665 people received the first dose of Covid-19, while 6,810 persons got the second. 74 people were vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson that requires only one dose.

Consequently, the highest number of people receiving the second dose of the vaccine was also recorded on Thursday. Previously, the largest number of second doses was recorded a day earlier, May 5, when 6,380 people got it.

The number of people vaccinated recently can still increase, since not all data is always entered on the same day.

291,988 people or 15.42% of the population have received their first dose, whereas 68,308 people or 3.61% of the population have completed the cycle. Altogether 360,296 doses have been administered in Latvia.
