Wednesday saw highest number of jabs against Covid-19 in Latvia

The pace of vaccination against Covid-19 has climbed in Latvia, reaching a new daily record on Wednesday, April 28, LETA reported.

According to data from the National Health Service (NVD), at least 11,111 people were vaccinated on Wednesday (data may still be entered), including 8,117 people receiving the first shot and 2,994 people got the second dose. So far, the record number of vaccinated people had been reached on April 21, when around 10,000 people received their jabs.

For the first dose, in 62% of the cases Pfizer was used and in 35% of the cases it was Moderna.

For the second dose, in 70% of the cases AstraZeneca was used and in 25% Moderna.

A total of 237,087 people have received the first dose of Covid-19 in Latvia, while 45,718 people have completed the process, or 12.5% and 2.4% of the population respectively.
