A two-day conference is underway in the northern Latvian city of Valmiera that aims to bring together the entrepreneurial skills of Latvia's diaspora around the world.

Taking place June 28-29, the World Latvian Economics and Innovations Forum aims "to facilitate knowledge exchange and practical interaction between business professionals active in Latvia with like-minded professionals operating elsewhere in the world. To facilitate business networking opportunities, as well as to attract innovation, finance and knowledge opportunities to Latvia. To allow business professionals and entrepreneurs who are of Latvian heritage to strengthen their sense of belonging in the modern Latvian business community," according to organizers.

The event was opened by Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs who said: ""The significance of the World Latvian Economics and Innovations Forum has only grown over the years: we are increasingly using our diaspora's potential in a wide range of ways - not only as investors, but also in technology transfer and research."

Day 1 has already concluded, but you can watch a live stream of Day 2 via the link below or at the official website of the event where you can also read the full program of Day 2.
