Rūta Dimanta, the head of the charity platform "Ziedot.lv", said that September is usually a time when people's expenses increase due to children going back to school, but despite this, people have also found funds to support Ukraine.
"It is a very large sum. It means that we have managed to donate more than EUR 100,000 a week," the head of "Ziedot.lv" said in an interview with Latvian Radio, acknowledging that the support of the people of Latvia for Ukraine is constant. "This means that our society is standing firmly behind Ukraine's victory."
All donated money will be directed to support Ukraine - the distribution of donations will be organized by "Ziedot.lv" together with the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia, which has called for two-thirds of the donated funds to be directed directly to the purchase of Latvian-made drones, as they are most acutely needed at the front.
There are more than 20 dedicated sections on the "Ziedot.lv" website, where donations to support Ukraine continue to be collected.
