The repatriation of the three groups of travelers was initiated due to the failure of the tour operator Fisom Ltd to meet its commitments and the liquidity problems of the merchant.
The 81 travelers started their homeward journey from the campsite in Spain on the afternoon of Friday, August 9, in two buses. Both buses reached Riga today.
Consumer Rights Protection Center (PTAC) noted that, given that the bus carrying the group of Fisom Ltd tourists from Portugal also encountered serious technical problems in France and the tour operator had no other means of continuing the journey and ensuring compliance with its obligations, PTAC, in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, also started the repatriation of 64 travelers (55 of whom are minors) to Latvia on Saturday. The group is expected to leave Warsaw this evening. The group has adults with whom PTAC is in regular contact.
Given that PTAC has revoked the tour operator license of Fisom Ltd, no further trips by this operator will take place.
