Tragic end to search for missing Indian student

Latvian State Police said July 21 that a body had been pulled from the water in Riga which is believed to be that of 18-year- old Indian student Albin Shinto from Kerala.

The body was found by a fisherman and retrieved by a fire crew, police said, adding that investigations continue into the circumstances that caused the death.

As previously reported by LSM, Albin was feared drowned after getting into difficulties while swimming with friends in the Jugla Canal. An initial search soon after he disappeared was unable to find him.

Our condolences to his family and friends.
