From April 20 to 22, there will be several donation dropoff points in Rīga where anyone can bring essential items as outlined in the list by the city council:
- Food: canned goods, sugar, salt, oil, cereals, pasta, candy, nuts, dried fruit, crispbreads, instant coffee, tea, instant noodles and porridge, baby food;
- Pet food and accessories (bedding, leashes);
- Household items: powerbanks, electric kettles, flashlights, industrial tape, diapers, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shower gel, chapstick, hand cream, towels, vitamins, underwear, socks.
The items can be dropped off at the following locations in Rīga:
- April 20, 12:00–20:00 Rātslaukums (Old town);
- April 21, 15:00–20:00 by the shopping mall Spice;
- April 22, 15:–20:00 at entrance B of the shopping mall Akropole Alfa.
- April 20 to 22, 13:00 –16:00 E. Smiļģa Street 46;
- April 20 to 22, 13:00 –16:00 Gobas Street 6a;
- April 20 to 22, 13:00 –16:00 Ieriķu Street 43a;
- April 20 to 22, 13:00 –16:00 Daugavpils Street 31;
- April 20 to 22, 13:00 –16:00 Ziemeļblāzmas Street 36, Room 402.
Rīga 1st Hospital will be adding donations of medicinal and first aid products. The buses will set out to Kyiv the next week. The buses will form a column and be taken to the border of Ukraine by the Rīga municipal transport employees and taken over by the Ukrainian counterparts afterwards.
Similar donations could follow in the future, with a total of up to 30 buses planned.
