Four more Russians added to Latvia's entry blacklist

Take note – story published 1 year ago

Four more Russian citizens have been declared personae non gratae in Latvia, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs announced May 9.

The cancelled quartet were named in a tweet as F. Kirkorov, V. Vinokur, Y. Petrosian [corrected from T. Petrosian] and I. Viner-Usmanova. They are barred from entry to Latvia indefinitely and are, respectively, a singer, two comedians and a sports coach.

The most well-known of them is the extravagantly-coiffed and bizarrely-bearded singer Philipp Kirkorov, who is already banned by both Estonia and Lithuania, not on the grounds of his singing but for his support for Russia's aggression in Ukraine over a period of years.

Kirkorov had been due to play a concert in Rīga on May 25.
