Ķezbere said that she has not yet written her resignation but would do so sometime soon.
The Electronic Mass Media Council has yet to provide more information regarding this.
It was previously reported that the Latvian Journalists' Association has turned to Saeima with the request that NEPLP members be fired. The association is asking Saeima to assess NEPLP members' performance as soon as possible and introduce a new public media management system.
The Journalists' Association believes that the current NEPLP cohort are not competent enough to solve the problems rife in the media environment. The NEPLP has managed to antagonize the majority of the media industry, and there is little indication that its numerous conflicts may be resolved any time soon.
In its letter to Saeima, the Journalists' Association emphasized that NEPLP has lost the trust of media organizations. It also pointed out the dubious reputations of certain members of the council, and reminded that in 2018 NEPLP had dismissed the board of LTV with no justifiable reasons.
NEPLP member Patriks Grīva told LETA that the Journalist Association's letter was nothing new, as "the association has been relentlessly criticizing the council's work and doing everything in its power to discredit it."
Justice Minister Jānis Bordāns has also said that Ķezbere should be dismissed from the NEPLP.
