This year, the marathon raised EUR 804,384 which will be channeled towards Ukrainian children in Latvia. This is by far the largest sum ever donated over the nine years of the marathon. For comparison, last year the campaign raised EUR 470,078 for environmental accessibility to people with functional impairments and disabilities, whereas the year before it raised EUR 402,065 for palliative care.
As previously reported, Dod Pieci ran December 16 to 22 and involved DJs broadcasting from a glass box in historic Dome square in the center of Riga. Members of the public could request songs to be played by pledging 5 euros.

All donated funds will go 100% to the Emergency Relief Fund through the project partner, the charity Ziedot.lv, to provide direct assistance for the basic needs of Ukrainian refugee children in Latvia. There are currently more than 35,000 Ukrainian refugees in Latvia. According to estimates by the Ministry of the Interior, around 31% of all Ukrainian refugees in Latvia are children, many of whom are here without their parents.
