Mars chocolate bars recalled from Latvia too

Take note – story published 8 years ago

The Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) has announced that certain Snickers, Mars, Celebrations, Mini Mix and Milky Way chocolate bars must be recalled, reported LSM Wednesday.

Earlier US food giant Mars Inc. recalled certain chocolate bars from 55 countries, mostly in the EU, including the popular Snickers and Mars brands. It was not clear at the time of announcement whether Latvia is among the affected countries.

According to Reuters, all of the recalled products came from a Dutch factory. The products were recalled due to choking risk after a piece of plastic was found in a Snickers bar in Germany.

The PVD asks buyers to be careful when buying Mars chocolate bars and promises to ensure the recall is carried out by doing inspections at Saniteks, the Latvian retailer of Mars Inc. products.

A table of the chocolate bars recalled in Latvia can be found here, with veids meaning variety, partijas numurs meaning party no. (only recalled numbers are listed), and derīguma termiņš - the expiration date.
