Most Latvian residents listen to radio daily, study shows

Over the last six months, an average of 67.3% or 1.036 million inhabitants of Latvia aged 16 to 74 listened to the radio every day, according to data published by research company Kantar March 26.

On average in the week, 86% or 1.324 million inhabitants of Latvia listened to the radio.

During the autumn 2020 and winter 2021 study period, one radio listener spent 4 hours and 3 minutes on average daily listening to radio.

The majority of the listening time is taken by the radio station “Latvijas Radio 2” – 18.3% of the total radio listening time.

The second place is  taken by Radio Skonto, with a 12.7% share of listening time, and in third place the radio station “Latvijas Radio 1” with a 9.8% share of listening time.

During the autumn of 2020 and winter of 2021, the most listened-to radio stations are “Latvijas Radio 2”, listened to by 13.0% or 201 thousand Latvian residents aged 16 to 74, “Radio Skonto” listened to by 11.7% or 181 thousand inhabitants and “Latvijas Radio 1”, which was listened at least once a day by 9.5% or 146 thousand listeners.
