Bordans declined to comment on his party’s priorities in the upcoming government formation process, saying that he did not want to influence the process before it has begun. Bordans believed that these matters should be discussed in the government formation talks.
JKP is now waiting for Gobzems to invite them to negotiations on Latvia’s next Cabinet of Ministers.
As reported, President Raimonds Vejonis on November 26 nominated Aldis Gobzems as the new candidate for prime minister.
The president also gave Gobzems two weeks to secure sufficient support for his government in Saeima, pick Cabinet ministers and draft a government declaration. In case Gobzems fails to form a government, his nomination would be recalled, but Vejonis hopes that this time an agreement would be reached on Latvia’s new government.
