The total compensation claim amounts to €155 million. Several defendants and legal entities have been imposed with confiscation of property, including bank accounts, capital shares, and real estate.
The case currently involves 144 witnesses, as well as ten experts.
Nine persons are being accused. The case was forwarded to City of Riga Zemgale District Court on October 9.
54 people died and several dozen were injured as a "Maxima" supermarket in Riga's Zolitude neighborhood collapsed on November 21, 2013.
The Riga supermarket tragedy has become the largest loss of life since the restoration of independence in 1991.
