On Saturday, August 13, afternoon, a few dozen people gathered in front of the Russian embassy in Rīga to express support for Ukrainian “Azov” fighters and to condemn Russia for its terrorist activities in Ukraine.

According to LETA, picketers of varying ages held posters in their hands, calling mainly in English to save Mariupol heroes, Ukraine and the soldiers of its special unit “Azov”, as well as condemning Russia, calling it a terrorist state and a killer.

The participants did not reveal to LETA who was the initiator of the protest, but it is known that, at least by Friday afternoon, such an event had not been formally announced at the Riga City Council.
