On December 28 the record passenger arrived to the Riga International Airport – an Estonian travelling from Tallinn to Riga – setting a new annual passenger record with 5,390,000 passengers served and counting.

The passenger arrived on an airBaltic flight, so the airline used the opportunity to boast of their plans to increase the number of tickets sold by 16% in 2017 due to the arrival of the new CS300 aircraft (airBaltic has orders for 20).

LETA reports that the Riga Airport served 5,162,149 passengers last year, 7.2% more on year over 2014.
