Take note – story published 3 years ago

Starting January 2021, holders of an electronic visa from Latvia will be able to enter the area of Pskov, Russia, through the border point of Grebnev, LSM's Russian language service said October 26.

Electronic visa holders will be able to stay in Russia for up to 16 days. In total, 29 Russia's border points will be open for e-visa travel from January, but it is planned to add to this list in the future, as indicated on the Russian government's website.

Electronic visa holders will be able to travel all over Russia from January 1, not just within the limits of a specific area, as it was before. The visa is for tourism, business, humanitarian and visiting trips. One does not need an invitation or hotel reservation to obtain this visa.

Latvian non-citizens can cross the Russian border without visas, but citizens do need visas. Latvia's citizens are one of the most active visa users to travel to Russia.
